Description

If an army marches on its stomach does that make this a military building....?

A cornerstone for both agricultural and cottage-based civilizations. The farm chunk is the only where regular crops can be grown. The growth rate for farms is linked to the city's growth stat. The Farm’s default design is set up to provide basic water and light needs for crops, however, the design of the farm can be customized as desired. Growth rate of plants is worked out as city growth / number of crops on a single farm chunk (X). The Farm is best utilized when used in cooperation with a windmill which will allow semi-automation of the Farm.

A farm is crucial for Cottage, Pasture, Restaurant and Grand Exchange buildings.

Smart production and use of Grand Exchange sales can give a good daily income for your city.

Farms are only one player for planting and require direct sunlight to grow.

Each Biome can grow a different set of crops, you can check with the /biome command. This will list out all crops that can be planted on a farm in this biome.

The /biome crop command can be used like /biome crop wheat. This will tell you all the different biomes that are able to grow this crop.

These two commands will allow you to plan out your Farm biome goals before you build them, to maximize the types of crops you want to grow.

Cocoa Can only be grown in nursery in the Jungle biomes.
