Starting a Civ

When you first land in minecraft, you are open to a world of possibilities.

The very first thing you will need to do.... is get ALL your friends in to play. Seriously, the more people and people ya like to hang around you have playing with you, the better.

To run a civ you will need at LEAST 5 people working together, to accomplish all your goals, and have fun!

CivWorld, like Minecraft itself is a large open world, with many choices you can make.

To find a good area to start a Civ, you can send your team members out in all different directions You will want to start right exactly when the server opens up, to give you the biggest head start you can. You will explore and find many (90+) biomes to build your first city in. Each biome has many pluses and minuses for stats listed biomes

If you want to start off in a high beaker biome, you may want to search and find ice spikes, or the ominous mire. If you prefer a high hammer or other stat area you can find them also. More rare biomes may have higher stats or benefits.

Chocolate is also a rare commodity, and can only be grown in the Jungles, so that is a good area. Jungle wood, redwood, and some may only grow in those biomes also.

Each biome has different crops that will grow in it as well, so as you get settled in you can run /biome crop and some commands to see what different crops will grow near you. The command /biome near 14 will assist you and show you nearby biomes and their total stats.

One of the main things to help you in your new civilization is trying to find some veterans who have played this game style before, they will know lots of ins and outs and help your city shoot up fast in growing.

When you have located the perfect location you will want to mark it, and make sure everyone is working hard to gather the starting materials. Starting materials include some stone, and wood, and other items that you may need to explore or mine in order to obtain before you can create your first city. You want everyone online if you can to gather those goods as fast as you can.

After gathering the materials you can use the /civ create command to start your new empire! It will create a Town hall for you and mark off a radius of chunks about 8 wide that is now in your city limits.

You can build any buildings within that city limits, and work to grow the size of your city.

Culture is gained every hour mostly from buildings like Town hall, Monument, Shrine, and Temple. High culture is super important, build these as soon as you can.

Beakers is the science unit, that helps you with your researches. You will need to study the Technology Tree, and decide what type of path you want to take.

Hammers is the building unit, and determines how fast your buildings and upgrades are constructed.

Growth pertains to how fast and how much the crops and trees will grow in your farms and nurseries.

TIP: Keep your research going 24-7 so you dont waste ANY time.

Good Luck!
